The Donna Karan New York Parfum was launched in September, 1992.  It won best Woman’s Fragrance Introduction of the Year at the FIFI awards in 1993.  The unique bottle designs for this fragrance were designed by her late husband Stephan Weiss, who was an architect.

“Each shape, curve and line of the bottle mirrors a part of a woman’s body. Its sculptural and sensual” states Mr. Weiss.

This limited edition version is hand painted 24K gold and Black paint and made out of fine crystal.  Not sure how many of these were made, but the photo shows that its #10,346, so let’s assume its more than 10,000.  This issue contained 1/2 FL. OZ. / 15ml of the Parfum. The only advertisement that shows this smaller bottle is a holiday catalog from luxury department store like Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue and it is shown in a gift set below with a Gold plated Vanity mirrored tray.

This bottle was originally released as a limited editon in crystal but with all 24K gold paint hand applied.  Signed in gold pen below the clear info sticker at the bottom with the designer’s name and that of her husband, Stephan Weiss, who designed the bottle.

The above Gold/Black bottle contains half the perfume of the all gold bottle, so its smaller in size.  I has black hand painted paint where the other bottle has the clear crystal.  Both come in a very similar box and packaging. More of these were made since I was able to get this photo from ebay of one marked 10,346.

The actual gold paint on my bottle has deteriorated or oxidized with age and humid conditions, even if its been displayed in a cabinet all this time?

She also released a set of limited edition 24K gold plated scripture votive candles that contained the perfume scent and came in a handwrapped gold paper gift box.
