The symbol of the Star has always inspired Thierry Mugler’s creations.  

One of my favorite “stars”, this Lucky Star shoots up in the sky with a reference to a pen stand, to write messages in the stars.  The included literature compares it more to a magic wand:

In France, one’s “good star” is like a guardian angel, in Anglo-Saxon countries, sometimes we refer to our loved ones as our “lucky star” as if wanting to symbolize the dream of finding happiness amongst the stars.  For the first time, ANGEL has been turned into a magic wand and offers all those who have one the unlimited power of the fairies to make your wishes come true or even cast a spell… all you have to do is make a wish…

The Authenticity certificate states:

We certify that this bottle was made in France by master glass craftsmen trained in the Verreries Brosse tradition.  
3,000 of these unique bottles were made for sale in the United States, the number engraved on the bottom of the piece certifies the authentic nature of its unique character.

This is one of those years when Mugler launches more than one limited edition, as is the case with the Big Bang bottle that was also released in 1999 to commemorate the end of the millennium. This might also be the reason that this bottle was only released for the US market, and maybe the Big Bang was exclusive to Europe, for I have never seen any catalogs featuring it.

Thierry Mugler Angel Perfume Presentation Box

The presentation box for this bottle resembles very much a pen box. Inside comes the bottle which is well protected in the box and a seperate Stand to place the bottle with the spray mechanism down inside of the stand.  What is interesting to see here is the retail price of $150 from Nordstrom. The number of the bottle is also featured on the box.  There is a foam insert that keeps both pieces in place.  To access the pen stand and bottle, you have to slide a clear panel from the lid of the box that has the logo printed on it.
